Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

Demands & Complaints for Wages: If an employer owes you earnings, you can send your employer a written need for employment payment of incomes by mail, e-mail, text, or other electronic methods. A written demand might be sent out to the employer at the exact same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unsettled wages is submitted with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be found on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements website.

Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a complete Complaint Form is received and examined, a letter describing the nature of the complaint and the amounts alleged to be owed is sent to the company. To learn more about the examination procedure, please review the Wage & Hour Claim Investigations – Employer FAQs webpage.

Investigations Launched by the Division (” Direct Investigations”): The Division may carry out employer-wide direct investigations of potential violations of Colorado wage and hour law. If you want to send an idea, please email the Division at cd**********@st***.us. If you would like to submit a specific claim for unsettled wages, you should complete a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements website. To appeal a direct examination citation or several Notices of Assessment, an alleged employer may submit a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
